We are about a 3 minute walk from Hammersmith Underground Station (District and Piccadilly lines)
Buses stopping near the library: 72, 220, 283, 295
Before visiting:
Check that we are open.
Please order archives at least one week in advance - by 5pm on a Tuesday for the following week.
Bring a pencil - we ask our customers to use pencils when taking notes.
We ask our customer to place all bags in lockers.
Facilities
Hammersmith Library is fully accessible. There is a lift to the 1st floor Local Studies and Archives searchroom. You will need to request access to the lift at the main library desk.
Refreshment facilities are available nearby on Shepherds Bush Road or Hammersmith Underground Station.
Free Wi-Fi and use of computers. You may plug in your laptop.
Microform reader/printers and a photocopier.
Free access to Ancestry.
